About the role

Support that people actually look forward to.

Support Workers are the heart of Newdawn. You'll work one-on-one with people living with disability or complex mental health, in their homes, in the community, and in our Supported Independent Living houses. No two days are the same, but every day has the same goal: help someone live life their way.

You'll be backed by coordinators who answer their phones, clinicians who share their expertise, and rosters built around your availability, not the other way round.

What you'll do

  • Support people with daily living: personal care, meals, medication prompts, and routines that work for them.
  • Get people out into their community: appointments, shopping, social groups, sport, and the things they love.
  • Build skills for independence, one step at a time, guided by each person’s NDIS goals.
  • Work within positive behaviour support plans alongside our clinical team.
  • Keep clear, respectful progress notes and report incidents properly.
  • Show up reliably. For many of the people we support, you are the plan.

What you'll bring

  • Experience in disability, aged care, or mental health support, or a Certificate III/IV in Individual Support (we also welcome strong newcomers).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one before starting.
  • Working with Children Check (or state equivalent).
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
  • Australian driver’s licence and a reliable, insured vehicle.
  • Warmth, patience, and communication that puts people at ease.

Bonus points

  • Experience with complex mental health or forensic backgrounds.
  • Manual handling, medication administration, or Mealtime Management training.
  • A second language.
